Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.
Himalayan Animal Rescue Trust (HART) has been working continuously for the animals of Nepal since its establishment in 2010. HART is based in Pokhara and Bharatpur and is engaged in animal welfare work throughout Nepal. HART focuses on rabies eradication, which is one of the oldest zoonotic diseases, by mass neutering, and community education. HART has been collaborating with Merit Nepal on various events and campaigns. HART has provided continuous support since the early days of Merit Pokhara. With the hope of flourishing the collaboration more and more, members of Pokhara visited HART on World Merit Day, July 24, 2022. The motto of the visit was to gain knowledge about the working mechanism of HART and also know more about pet animals.
The visit was attained by 7 members of Merit Nepal. The visit dispersed information regarding the working mechanism of HART, the work HART had been doing for over a decade, and the contribution of HART to animal welfare. Members were also able to spend some time with vets and learn about veterinary services.
Furthermore, through informal discussion, members got a chance to clarify their doubts and gain further information. Mr. Khageshwaar Sharma, Chair/Trustee of HART, also joined the discussion. Mr. Sharma appreciated the work, events, and campaign that Merit had been doing, which inspired our members to do more in the upcoming events.
